Irvington- Sunnyside, Tarrytown- Old Dutch Church

Sunnyside(on 9 West Sunnyside Lane in Irvington, New York) was the home of the romantic writer Washington Irving, who wrote the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and "Rip Van Winkle."  It's an incredible Dutch structure right out of a fantasy story(not surprisingly), that is wrapped in greenery.  It also has a great porch with to die for views of the Hudson River.  Perfect place to kick back with a lemonade for the afternoon!

And a hop, skip, and a jump away is the Old Dutch Church(on 42 North Broadway in Tarrytown, New York), which inspired Washington Irving to write the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow."  Take a look at the names on the graves, and some of them may look familiar.  I especially liked the pictures carved on the headstones, which were both cool and bit creepy!
